Larestan County is located in Fars Province , south of  Iran. Larestan is subdivided into six districts: the Central District, Beyram, Evaz District, Banaruiyeh, Sahray-ye Bagh, and Juyom.The capital of the county named "Lar"  is one of the ancient cities where considered to be a major stop along the road to the Persian Gulf.  Lar city is divided into two areas: new department (called Shahre-jadid) and old department (called Shahre-ghadim). New department, which was constructed after the historical earthquake of 1960, now accommodates the main population and is considered to be modern in terms of civil and transportation system. The old department contains the Bazaar of Qaisariye, a pre-Safavid dynasty creation, that was proposed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site on August 9, 2007.Evaz is another major cities of Larestan county and capital of Evaz District. It is one of the fastest growing towns in the region due to the large number of Evazi individuals providing financial support for the development of robust academic infrastructure.Larestan International Airport (IATA: LRR, ICAO: OISL)  which was first operated in 1983, became an international airport after Persian Gulf War with its first international flight to Dubai, UAE. It has one of the most efficient systems in displacing passengers and luggage having ranked the best airport in lost or delayed luggage. Flight delays are also very rare and the airport ranks ahead of Imam Komeini Airport, Mehrabad Airport and Shiraz Airport.
