Greetings from the Central Library

I hope that you find the library services and resources useful for your courses and research. The Central Library provides the access to an extensive digital library of e-books, e-journals and also printed scientific resources including books and theses. You access to the platform of most premier publishers and citation databases by using digital library. You can search all university's printed collections about different medical subjects in the central library and also the affiliated libraries of SEMUMS by using online library catalogue searcher named Azarsa. Our professional Liberians always help you for your research and make a warm and friendly atmosphere for your studying as well. Providing effective and standard services to all the library's users including under-graduate students and post-graduate students is our main goal and mission.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, we try to provide more convenience and online services for all students such as online resources loan and reservation, online extension of the period of resources loan, document delivery and online workshops.

About the Central Library

The Central Library was established in 1989. It has an area of more than 2000 square meters including a reading hall for 200 persons, book repositories, reference books and dissertations section, computer rooms, seminar and office rooms. There are more than 24,500 Persian books and about 10,300 English books in different fields of basic and clinical medical sciences in the library at the moment and also 2637 dissertation titles, 433 research projects, and more than 400 English and Persian audio-visual sources. The library provides the access to the platform of the most premier international publishers and citation databases for all members. In addition, there is a Document Delivery Service (DDS) to prepare the full text of scholarly articles for the members.

Using the library catalogue online searcher; Azarsa, the members can search all university's printed collections including books and dissertation in the central library and all university's affiliated libraries. The computer rooms and wireless connection in the library provide a convenient access to the internet for users. In addition, the library holds many workshops in different subjects for academic, non-academic staff and also the students by professional lecturers.

The Central Library has been registered in the National Library and Archives of I.R.IRAN with IR 201720005 Number.

Steps to Order Articles:

First, the applicant must search the university databases through electronic recourses in the central library website (https://diglib.semums.ac.ir/ ).
If an applicant could not find the full text of an article, she/he can order the article by downloading application form.
The application form must be filled up fully by the applicant including full title of the article, author(s) and journal name, ISSN, journal volume and issue, and DOI
Then, the applicant must e-mail the completed form to library@semums.ac.ir.
By receiving the full text of ordered article from the publisher, it will be emailed to the applicant.
